County of Granville issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.

Announcement from Granville County Sheriff’s Office – Robert Fountain regarding housing resources at Cornerstone Christian Community Church (3237 Knotts Grove Road, Oxford) during the extreme cold forecast for this evening (Friday, December 23).

“At 5:00 p.m. today, Cornerstone Christian Community Church will open its doors for our homeless community,” announced Sheriff Fountain. 

“Thank you to Cornerstone Christian Community Church, the Mayor of City of Oxford, NC – Government, Oxford Police Department (NC), Granville County Commissioners, United Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, Greater Harvest Baptist Church, Penn Avenue Baptist Church, Timothy Darling United Presbyterian Church and the men and women of the Granville County Sheriff’s Office for working together as a ‘commUNITY’ to help our homeless residents.”
