In the week ending Feb. 21, four gas stations in Franklin County sold diesel gas at the lowest reported price of $3.25 per gallon, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
Reported prices for diesel gas in Franklin County averaged $3.37 per gallon.
Of the 43 reported gas stations in cities within Franklin County, 11 offered diesel gas.
Across North Carolina, the average reported price for a gallon of diesel gas rose to $3.44, compared to the week before.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
