Matthew Winslow, a Republican member of the North Carolina State House representing the 7th district since 2021, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing state infrastructure investments and recent personal reflections.

On September 9, 2025, Winslow announced an upcoming investment in rural broadband infrastructure. He wrote, “Fantastic News: NC will spend more than $2 billion connecting high-speed internet to rural communities”.

The following day, on September 10, 2025, Winslow shared a message of support for a public figure and their family. He stated, “Pray for Charlie Kirk and his family.”

Later that same day, Winslow commented on the death of Iryna Zarutska. He posted, “Iryna Zarutska was only two years older than my daughter when she was viciously and senselessly murdered by a 14 time violent career criminal. As a father, I can only imagine the bottomless sorrow and rage that Iryna’s parents and family must feel.

Iryna’s murder was entirely”.

Winslow has served in the North Carolina State House since being elected in 2021 to represent District 7 after Lisa Barnes vacated the seat.
