Matthew Winslow has taken to Twitter to discuss a variety of issues ranging from food regulations to opportunities for youth engagement and community support. Winslow highlights the need for legislative changes that benefit citizens, promotes engaging activities for youth, and informs about grant opportunities from the Duke Energy Foundation.
On April 28, 2025, Winslow addressed concerns about the difficulty parents face in selecting healthy food options. He expressed that “Parents shouldn’t have to go through what our family did to figure out what food was best for our health. Most parents also don’t have the time to spend hours in a grocery store. That’s why common-sense legislation that benefits *all* citizens is needed.” This statement underscores the need for legislative improvements to simplify and improve the process for families making healthy dietary choices.
In another post from April 29, 2025, Winslow promoted the “2025 Sizzling Summer Sessions” organized by the 4-H and Franklin County Cooperative Extension. He encourages participation by mentioning that these sessions provide opportunities for youth aged 5 to 18 to engage in meaningful and fun activities that can create lasting summer memories.
The following day, on April 30, 2025, Winslow shared information about grant opportunities from the Duke Energy Foundation. “Duke Energy Foundation is accepting grant applications from eligible organizations for a $25,000 grant. Successful applications will describe the local environmental impact program and how the organization will use the funds.” he tweeted, adding that applications are still being accepted until early June.
