City of Roxboro issued the following announcement on Oct. 15.
The City of Roxboro establishes a COVID-19 Water and Sewer assistance program. This program will assist businesses and citizens of Roxboro and Person County with past due water and sewer bills that are directly related to COVID-19. Roxboro will use funds from the CARES Act to fund the program. Assistance through this program is dependent upon funding from the CARES Act and will be allocated in accordance with Governor Cooper’s Executive Order 124.
The requirements for the program are:
Have an account for water service with the City of Roxboro; and
Have suffered financially from COVID-19.
Maximum amount of assistance is $400.00 per account.
This program can be used to pay the balance of any City of Roxboro payment plan created by Executive Order 124.
This program cannot be used to pay for an excessive bill resulting from leaks.

Application must be submitted on or before November 30, 2020.
