Town of Wake Forest issued the following announcement on Sep 17.
All lanes of northbound Capital Boulevard/US 1 remain closed but are expected to reopen by midnight.
Five people were transported to a local hospital.
The information below was distributed tonight at 7:23 p.m.:
An accident has closed all lanes of northbound Capital Boulevard/US 1 at Durham Road/NC 98. Northbound traffic is being diverted onto Durham Road/NC 98.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area and choose another route.
Emergency personnel are on the scene. One person has been transported to a local hospital.
