Person County Recreation, Arts and Parks Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 31.
The Person County Recreation, Arts and Parks Department invites the public to give their input and to gain information about the latest plans and progress for the future 280-arce green space park on county property located in southern Person County along the Flat River.
The purpose of the project is to satisfy Person County’s North Carolina State Stormwater obligations and requirements through the (IAIA) Interim Alternative Implementation Approach regulated by the NC Department of Environment Quality. Secondly, while satisfying storm water requirements, this project will also create recreational and natural space opportunities for the residents and visitors of Person County that include: Mountain Biking, Hiking, Nature/Bird watching, environmental education opportunities, and much more. We need your feedback to improve this project during its planning and implementation stages.
