TOWN OF LOUISBURG: Relaunching its Text Message Notification System

Town of Louisburg issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.

The Town of Louisburg is thrilled to relaunch our TextMyGov text alerts service. This service will deliver news, events, and emergency information to residents via text, so that they can stay in the loop about what’s going on in the Louisburg community.

The Town of Louisburg is pleased to announce the relaunch of TextMyGov Text Alerts, a text messaging notification service that will provide residents with important updates and alerts in the area.

The Town of Louisburg signed the contract with TextMyGov approximately one year ago to test this feature as another form of communication with the public.

Residences that are registered with the Utilities Department will automatically be enrolled to receive text updates about utilities, but they can opt-out of all future text alerts at any time by texting “STOP” to 91896. Residents can also sign up for text alerts at any time by opting into any of the following notification lists.

The Town of Louisburg website provides a TextMyGov flyer with more categories to opt-into at https://townoflouisburg.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Louisburg-TextMyGov-alerts-flyer2.pdf.

For Utility Alerts, text "LOUISBURGUTILITIES" to 91896. For Town News Alerts, text "LOUISBURGNEWS" to 91896.

For Road Closure Notifications, text "LOUISBURGROADS" to 91896. For Upcoming Event Notifications, text "LOUISBURGEVENTS" to 91896.
