Town of Louisburg issued the following announcement on Jan. 16.
Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!
Town Hall will be closed today in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
Today, we remember the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a man who dedicated his life to fighting for racial equality and justice.
Dr. King inspired a nation with his words and his actions, and his work continues to echo through the years.
On this day, we reflect on Dr. King's legacy and honor his memory by recommitting to his fight for justice and equality for all.
We also remember the other unsung heroes of the civil rights movement who made incredible sacrifices to bring about change.
Let us all strive to live up to their example and build a better future for everyone, regardless of race or background.
