County of Granville issued the following announcement on Feb. 6.
At the February 6 meeting of the Granville County Board of Commissioners, Granville Vance Public Health Director Lisa Harrison provided an update on the GVPH Community Health Assessment and other programs underway at the local public health department.
Every three years, GVPH conducts a Community Health Assessment, the purpose of which is to collect and analyze data to determine the needs of a community, as well as identify community resources and assets that can improve the community’s health and wellbeing.
The health assessment team worked from August 2021 to May 2022 to collect and analyze data, present it for discussion to the steering committee and community members, and set three priorities that represent the counties’ needs and concerns. Those top priorities were:
Mental Health and Substance Use
Healthcare Access
Engaging Youth for Community Health and Safety
