TOWN OF LOUISBURG: Franklin County Clarify and Align Development Maps

0Comments

Town of Louisburg issued the following announcement on Jan. 12.

Franklin County and the Town of Louisburg are working together to bring clarity and alignment to

development maps.

Franklin County and the Town of Louisburg will be working on administrative alignment of zoning and territorial maps of

the two entities to better provide accuracy for property owners.

Because of changes in land characteristics and technical revisionsin mapping, town and county leadership sought to

improve the accuracy of territorial and zoning maps to provide property owners clarity in the uses of their property. The

process of administrative alignment is taking into account the comprehensive development plans and the continued

growth of the town and the county.

“The Town of Louisburg is taking a proactive approach to developing the town,” said Philip Slayter, Louisburg’s planning

& zoning administrator. “This process represents the increasing dialogue between the town and the county.”

In the coming weeks, town and county leadership will be providing public notices and information to affected and

adjoining property owners about next steps. Their respective boards will be working toward having maps updated through

appropriate statutory processes.
