TOWN OF LOUISBURG: Town Council Appoints Mr. Sean Medlin as Town Administrator

Town of Louisburg issued the following announcement on Nov. 14.

At the special meeting on Friday evening, November 4th, 2022 a

motion was made to appoint Mr. Sean Medlin, Finance Director, as the Town Administrator for the

Town of Louisburg. This motion passed with a 4 to 2 vote. On Monday, November 7th, Mr. Medlin

was offered and accepted the position of Town Administrator by Town Council.

Mr. Sean Medlin has served the Town of Louisburg for over 14 years as Finance Director. He boasts

a comprehensive finance background and collaborates closely with all departments on a daily basis.

Sean is a holder of a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor’s of Science in Business

Administration from North Carolina Wesleyan College. As Finance Director, Sean was responsible

for the financial management of the Town, including the development and implementation of the

Town’s annual budget. He also oversaw the Town’s investment portfolio and managed the Town’s

debt.

Sean and his wife Lajean are natives of Franklin County who currently reside in the Louisburg area.

They have three children: Addison (Elizabeth), Adam, and Ashley. “It is an honor to be the next

Administrator for the Town of Louisburg. I look forward to working with Mayor, the Town Council,

staff, and citizens to accomplish projects as we move the Town of Louisburg forward.” Sean’s chief

responsibility is overseeing the Town’s departments and operational aspects, but he also aspires to

work closely with Mayor and the Council to fulfill priorities. To do so, he has stated that he will form

an executive team and use all the Town’s personnel assets to help satisfy the current and future capital

and operational needs of the Town. Sean is confident that this team can exceed the challenges the

Town faces and help build a thriving community.
