CITY OF ROXBORO: No Campaign Signs Before August 16

Candidate

City of Roxboro issued the following announcement on Aug. 7.

As election season draws near, it is important to keep in mind the regulations surrounding campaign signage.

NC General Statutes 136-32 does not allow for any campaign signage to be placed in the public right-of-way more than 30 days prior to the beginning of the early voting period. For the upcoming municipal election, early voting begins September 16th, so campaign signage should not be out until August 16th.

Furthermore, the City of Roxboro regulates campaign signage outside of the public right-of-way in the same manner. No campaign signage may be placed outside of the public right-of-way before August 16th.

A complete list of regulations for campaign signage can be found in Article 9, Section 9.20 of the UDO, here: https://www.cityofroxboro.com/home/showpublisheddocument/10818/637589222511630000
