TOWN OF WAKE FOREST: Rogers Road Railroad Gate Crossing Not Working, Motorists Should Proceed With Caution

Roadsignclosed

Town of Wake Forest issued the following announcement on Aug. 27.

Due to an overnight single car accident, the Rogers Road CSX railroad gate crossing arms have been disabled and will not lower when trains approach the intersection. CSX officials are aware of the issue and have scheduled crews to repair the crossing arms by Tuesday, Aug. 31.

In the meantime, train conductors have been instructed to stop ahead of the Rogers Road intersection and ensure all traffic has stopped in both directions before proceeding. Until the crossing arms are repaired, however, motorists are strongly urged to approach the railroad crossing with caution.

Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
