Town of Louisburg Fire Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 28.
On Friday August 27, 2021 The Louisburg Fire Department was awarded the (FY) 2020 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant. The grant will cover expenses related to upgrading the safety equipment that is used everyday by the firefighters of the department. The grant award is in the amount of $138,500.00. Of which, the town and department is responsible for 5% of the total funding. The funds will be used to upgrade a total of 19 self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA's) to current standards, which is crucial for firefighter safety during hazardous incidents.
