County of Franklin issued the following announcement on Oct. 28.
Franklin County Veterans Services will celebrate Veterans Day 2021 on November 11 with a drive-through event in the parking lot located behind the Hamilton Hobgood Courthouse Annex in Louisburg.
Traditional Veterans Day Services have been altered since the COVID-19 pandemic in order to provide the safest celebration for our veterans and their families. The drive-through celebration will be held from 11am-1pm on Thursday, November 11, 2021.
Vehicles should line up on West Johnson Street and will then circle around to South Church Street where veterans and surviving spouses will receive special gifts and a packed lunch for two in the comfort of their vehicle. The Louisburg Police Department will be on hand to direct drivers to the appropriate areas.
Attendees are asked to remain in their vehicles during the celebration and that masks be worn while being served by our volunteers. Attendees are also encouraged to RSVP in advance by calling (919) 496-1939 or by emailing bwilkins@franklincountync.us.
