County of Franklin issued the following announcement on May 16.
Franklin County's Board of Commissioners honored fallen Franklin County Sheriff's Office K9 Major by presenting a proclamation to his partner, Cpl. Jamie Lariviere and his family. Major Troy Wheless also presented Lariviere with a preservation of K9 Major's paw print and a metal sign that memorializes K9 Major's legacy. After the presentation, the board and audience gave standing applause to Cpl. Lariviere for his service and the sacrifice K9 Major gave for the safety of Franklin County.
